10 Years of Awakening the Hunger
For 10 years, we’ve had the joy of serving Catholic organizations in their mission to evangelize.
Through that work, one truth has only become clearer:
The hunger for Christ is already there.
Our role is simply to help awaken it.
Over the past decade, we’ve learned a lot through our clients, our team, and the mission we share.
Here are 10 lessons we at KPC have learned along the way.
1. Culture Is the Mission’s Foundation
Even the best strategies fall flat if they are not supported by a culture that lives them. The way people are welcomed, responded to, and cared for is often where the mission is most tangibly experienced.
“When cultural change happens alongside strategy, it creates real opportunities for people to encounter Christ.”
— Steve Mamanella
2. Everything Points to Christ
At the heart of every message, campaign, and conversation is a single purpose: to lead others to Christ. When that focus is clear, everything else finds its proper place.
“I have learned that one of the most powerful forms of ministry is simply to listen and to respond. People long to be heard, and when we take the time to truly listen, we build trust, strengthen community, and open hearts to the love of Christ.”
— Anne Steffens
3. Clarity Is an Act of Faithfulness
Clear, honest, and consistent communication is not just good practice. It reflects fidelity to the truth and makes the mission visible and accessible.
“Clarity is not merely a strategy. It is an act of faithfulness.”
— Molly Goellner
4. Excellence Is a Form of Hospitality
Thoughtful design and strong messaging are not about impressing people. They are about removing barriers, building trust, and inviting people into something deeper.
“Excellence in design and messaging communicates care and credibility.”
— Emma Carpenter
5. Authentic Stories Move Hearts
The most powerful communication is rooted in sincerity. Real experiences, shared honestly, are what resonate and move people to care and to act.
“The stories that resonate are the ones that reveal sincerity. When someone tells the exact truth… it’s magnetic.”
— Brenda Kimberlin
6. Consistency Multiplies Impact
When messaging is unified and authentic, it energizes communities and amplifies mission. Alignment creates momentum and gives people a shared language to participate.
“Consistent, authentic messaging amplifies a parish’s mission.”
— Greg Ghering
7. Mission Alignment Changes Everything
This work is different. When belief and work are fully aligned, it changes how and why we show up.
“What I believe is no longer separate from what I do. It drives it. We’re helping to fulfill the Great Commission.”
— Michael Laffin
8. Stay Focused on What Matters Most
Trends, convenience, and creativity all have their place, but only if they serve the mission. True effectiveness comes from consistently returning to core goals.
“It’s so tempting to pursue a trend… but if it doesn’t communicate the right message, you’re just staying busy.”
— Beth Lauver
9. Listen, Learn, and Adapt
Effective communication requires both creativity and discipline. It means paying attention to what resonates, speaking to real needs, and being willing to adjust.
“Compelling imagery is essential… The strongest content shows how faith is lived in everyday moments.”
— Ted Siegel
10. Progress Over Perfection
This work is a marathon. Small wins matter, and consistency over time carries the mission forward.
“Don’t let the perfect become the enemy of the good. Communication work is a marathon, not a sprint.”
— Liz Henning
Looking to the Future
Looking back on these lessons, one thing stands out: God has done amazing things in these past 10 years.
We have seen that when communication is rooted in Truth, carried out with excellence, and aligned with mission, it does more than inform. It invites.
It opens doors.
It builds trust.
It creates space for encounter.
As we celebrate 10 years, we are filled with gratitude for the organizations we have served, the people we have worked alongside, and the ways we have been invited into something far bigger than ourselves.
The Spirit is moving.
The hunger for Christ is real.
And we are just getting started.
Let’s awaken it.
