What is the Diocesan Communicator Symposium?

The Diocesan Communicator Symposium (DCS) is an immersive, rigorous continuing education experience specifically for communicators who are working for Catholic dioceses

The 2026 DCS, to be held on the new campus of Augustine Institute in St. Louis, Missouri, will be a tightly structured four-day, three-night experience with no more than 10 diocesan participants.

The 2026 DCS is being offered at no cost to diocesan communicators, who will only need to cover their transportation to and from the symposium site.

What topics will be discussed?

With opportunities for prayer throughout the day, our professional development topics at the 2026 DCS will include:

  • Strategic communications in an apostolic age

  • Message development for internal and external audiences

  • Best practices in digital communications, including AI

  • Media training and crisis communications strategy

  • And more!

Details about keynote speakers and presenters will be shared soon.

Who should apply to attend?

The Diocesan Communicator Symposium 2026 is an ideal opportunity for:

  • New, early-career diocesan communicators

  • Seasoned communicators who have recently transitioned to a diocesan role from a for-profit role

  • Diocesan communicators who perceive they are stagnating in their current role and are looking to upgrade their professional skillset
